There are many methods for extracting brass tubes, but the most commonly used method in the industry is electrolytic extraction using a metal electrolyte. This method is the most convenient and yields the highest purity.
The raw material for brass tubes is copper. After mining and simple processing, copper is formed into thick plates, which are used as the anode in the electrolytic process. Pure copper is then made into thin sheets, which serve as the cathode. There are many types of electrolyte solutions, with copper sulfate solution being the most commonly used. When electricity is applied, copper ions are released from the anode and move toward the cathode. Once this process is complete, electrons are generated, and pure copper is produced at the cathode. This is what we refer to as electrolytic copper, a decomposition process based on the chemical properties of copper.
Electrolytic copper extraction is a relatively pure extraction method. The copper extracted through this method has better product quality, higher purity, and more stable chemical properties. This type of copper is widely used in electrical products. For products with high requirements for brass tubes, this extraction method is also prioritized for copper extraction. During the extraction process, impurities with lower chemical reactivity compared to copper are accumulated at the bottom of the electrolytic cell. These substances have other applications. Some manufacturers may use all of them in the production of brass tubes to reduce costs.




Regarding the extraction of copper as raw material for brass tubes, the electrolytic copper method is currently the most widely adopted.

The superior physical properties of brass tubes are primarily reflected in their density. Compared to similar metal tubing, brass tubes are lighter in weight and have a lower density. They also exhibit excellent thermal conductivity, making them suitable for use as primary heat-transfer materials in refrigeration and condensation equipment. In hydrogen production equipment, they are employed as low-temperature piping components.

Brass tubing is hard and resistant to corrosion. Its primary component is copper, along with other metallic and rare elements. Depending on specific requirements, it can be customized into special brass alloys. Brass tubes can be widely used in various high-temperature and high-pressure environments. Compared to the galvanized water pipes commonly used in homes, which may experience reduced water flow after prolonged use, brass tubes do not exhibit such issues. When used in hot water pipes, their chemical properties remain stable.
