It has high strength equivalent to stainless steel. It also has good machinability, excellent hot forgeability, easily accepts solder and brazing, and has excellent polishing and plating capabilities.
C69300 lead-free and compliant with the Federal Drinking Water Act, it also supports applications following the U.S. EPA standards for antimicrobial performance which kills Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella choleraesuis, Mycobacterium bovis (BCG), Clostridium difficile, and viruses. Therefore, it can be used as an antimicrobial touch surface in homes and health care facilities.
Soldering lead to no-lead copper is possible. If the proper procedures are followed, especially in the preheating and heating process, consistent, high-quality solder joints can easily be achieved between copper tube and new, copper alloy (brass or bronze) fittings/components.
