ASTM B743 Copper Pipe
ASTM B743 is the standard specification for seamless and welded copper tube for medical gas systems. This specification covers the requirements for seamless and welded copper tube for use in medical gas systems. The tubes shall be made from any of the following copper alloys: C10200, C10300, C10800, C12000, or C12200. The tubes shall be produced by the following processes: hot extrusion, hot piercing, cold working, and cold drawing. The tubes shall be coated with a suitable protective coating to prevent contamination of the gas stream. The tubes shall be tested for mechanical properties, chemical composition, and corrosion resistance. This specification is intended for use in the design of medical gas systems and in the selection of materials for the manufacture of medical gas system components.
