This specification covers the requirements for seamless UNS C10200, C12000 or C12200 copper alloy tubes used for the connection, repair or replacement of air conditioning or refrigeration units in the field. Material in the form of billets, rods or tubes shall be used to produce uniform and consistent forged structures by hot or cold working. Each tube shall be cold drawn to final size and wall thickness. Coils having a soft annealed condition shall be bright annealed after coiling, then dewatered and capped, plugged, crimped or otherwise closed at both ends. Straight tubes having a hard drawn temper shall be cleaned and capped, plugged or otherwise closed at both ends. Grain size, tensile properties, eddy current and cleanliness test results shall conform to the values listed herein.
