The density of T40 titanium alloy is about 4.5g/cm³, which is only 60% of steel. Although the strength of pure titanium is close to that of ordinary steel, the strength of certain high-strength titanium alloys even exceeds that of many alloyed structural steels.
The service temperature of T40 titanium alloy is several hundred degrees higher than that of aluminum alloy, especially in the temperature range of 150℃ to 500℃, its specific strength is still very high. This means that T40 titanium alloy can operate at temperatures up to 500°C, far exceeding the 200°C limit for aluminum alloys.T40 titanium alloy performs well in humid atmospheric and seawater media, and its corrosion resistance is far superior to that of stainless steel, with particular resistance to pitting, acid corrosion and stress corrosion. In addition, it has excellent corrosion resistance to alkalis, chlorides, nitric and sulfuric acids.
