ASTM B271 C86300 Self-lubricating inlaid graphite bearings



ASTM B271 C86300 inlaid graphite bearings are self-lubricating, completely maintenance-free, consisting of a centrifugally cast bronze alloy (ASTM B271 C86300) for bearings with a bore diameter greater than 180 mm, or of a continuously cast alloy (ASTM B505 C86300) for bearings with a bore diameter less than 180 mm, highly wear-resistant, with a solid lubricant consisting of graphite filled on the contact surfaces and patterned according to the so-called "macro-distribution principle" and the type of movement the bearing will be subjected to.
The bearings are provided with a 15 to 20µm running-in film, the function of which is to ensure that the solid lubricant is transferred to the mating material during the first movement.
They must have a high static and dynamic load capacity, a stable coefficient of friction, no "stick-slip" effect, be corrosion-resistant, insensitive to dirt, and suitable for use in water, oil or grease.
For bearings with a bore diameter greater than 200mm, the tolerances should be calculated by our application engineering team according to the parameters of each application.
