What is a C11000 copper pipe?

Copper is a versatile metal that can be alloyed with many other metals to achieve specific properties. One of copper's main characteristics is its excellent electrical conductivity. Therefore, for applications requiring good conductivity, manufacturers often recommend C11000 copper bars. C11000 copper is also known as electrolytic tough copper.

As a common copper grade, C11000 electrolytic tough copper (ETP) is a general-purpose component in electrical applications. C11000 electrolytic tough copper has a minimum conductivity of 100% IACS and a purity requirement of 99.9%. While purity must be maintained above 99.9%, trace amounts of oxygen in electrolytic tough copper castings are not uncommon.

Typically, the oxygen content of this high-purity copper is expected to be between 0.02% and 0.04%. C11000 copper bars are typically used in the most demanding electrical applications, such as power and signal transmission.
