Meaning and application of state codes of copper and copper alloys in China
According to the provisions of the standard GB/T 29094-2012 on the state representation method of copper and copper alloys:

I. The state representation method of copper and copper alloys is divided into three levels:

The first state is represented by a capital letter, representing the basic production method of the product. The representation method of the first state is as follows:
M: Manufacturing state. Applicable to the state obtained by primary manufacturing through casting or hot working.
H: Cold working state. Applicable to the state obtained by different cold working methods and controlled deformation.
O: Annealing state. Applicable to the state obtained by annealing to change the mechanical properties or grain size requirements of the product.
T: Heat treatment state. Applicable to the state obtained by solution heat treatment or solution heat treatment followed by cold working or heat treatment.
W: Welded pipe state. Applicable to the state obtained by welding strips of various states into pipes.

II. The second and third level state representation methods are as follows:

Add an Arabic numeral or a capital letter after the first level state to indicate the second level state, representing the product function or specific production process.
Adding 1 to 3 Arabic numerals after the secondary state indicates the tertiary state, which represents the final molding method of the product.

1. The second and third level state representation methods of manufacturing state (M) are as follows:

Second level state code:

M0--cast state; M1--hot forging; M2--hot rolling; M3--hot extrusion; M4--hot piercing

Third level state code:

Add Arabic numerals 1~8 after M0; add 0, 1 after M1; add 0, 5 after M2; add 0 after M3; add 0, 5 after M4;

M0: M01--sand casting; M02--centrifugal casting; M03--gypsum casting; M04--pressure casting; M05--metal casting (permanent casting); M06--melt casting; M07--continuous casting; M08--low pressure casting

M1: M10--hot forging - air cooling; M11--hot forging - quenching;

M2: M20--hot rolling; M25--hot rolling + re-rolling;

M3: M30--hot extrusion;

M4: M40--Hot piercing; M45--Hot piercing + re-rolling

Note 1: Castings and hot-processed products are mainly supplied in the manufactured state, and generally do not require further heat treatment.

Note 2: The first digit after M increases with the degree of deformation of the material.
