What rules should the brazing connection of copper pipe fittings comply with?
The following copper pipe quick connectors, copper water pipes and copper water pipe manufacturers will tell you that the brazing connection of copper pipe fittings should comply with the following rules:
(1) Before connecting pipelines, it is necessary to reconfirm whether the specifications and dimensions of pipes and fittings meet the connection requirements.
(2) According to the actual measurement of the piping length on site according to the design drawings, the cutting should be accurate. For cutting, you can use a rotary pipe cutter or a hacksaw or electric saw with no less than 13 teeth per centimeter to cut straight. After cutting, the burrs on the inside and outside of the pipe mouth should be removed and rounded.
(3) The brazing strength is low, and generally the welding joint is overlapped. The overlap length is 6-8 times the pipe wall thickness. When the outer diameter D of the pipe is less than or equal to 28mm, the overlap length is (1.2-1.5) D (mm).
(4) Before welding, the outer wall of the copper pipe and the inner wall of the pipe fittings at the welding location should be rubbed with fine sandpaper, steel brush or cloth sandpaper containing other abrasives to remove surface oxides.
(5) During the welding process, the welding gun should be properly selected according to the pipe diameter, and the socket and welding rod at the joint should be heated evenly. When welding, overheating must not occur. Heating should be stopped immediately after the solder has penetrated the weld, and should be kept stopped to allow it to cool naturally.
(6) When welding between copper pipes and copper pipe fittings, flux should be used at the welding point of the copper pipe fittings, and after the welding is completed, the residual flux on the outer wall of the pipe should be removed.
(7) When welding plastic-coated copper pipes, bare copper pipes with a length of not less than 200mm should be peeled off, and wet cloth should be wrapped around both ends. The plastic-coated layer should be restored after welding is completed.
(8) Brazed copper pipe fittings must be cleaned within 8 hours to remove residual flux and slag. Boiled 10-15% alum aqueous solution or 10% citric acid aqueous solution is often used to brush the joints, and then rinse and dry with water.
(9) When welding the device, try to avoid inverted and vertical welding.
