Description

ASTM B423 NiFeCrMCu is a nickel-iron chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum, copper, and titanium. It is an alloy with a high level of corrosion resistance to moderately oxidizing and moderately reducing environments. It has a higher level of water corrosion resistance. The high nickel content makes this alloy effective against stress corrosion cracking. It has good corrosion resistance in a wide range of media such as sulfuric, phosphoric, nitric and organic acids, as well as alkali metal solutions such as sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid. Its high comprehensive performance is shown in the nuclear combustion dissolver of various corrosive media such as sulfuric acid, nitric acid, sodium hydroxide, etc., which makes the alloy have a wide range of uses and a wide range of applications.

The material is easily hot or cold worked. Hot working temperatures should be in the range of 870 - 1180°C and finishing temperatures should be in the range of 870 - 980°C. For maximum corrosion resistance, hot-worked parts should be stabilized and annealed before use. This alloy is easier to cold form than stainless steel.
