5. Uses of copper rods
1. Brass rods
Brass rods are rod-shaped objects made of copper and zinc alloys, named for their yellow color. Brass rods have good mechanical properties and wear resistance, and are mainly used to manufacture precision instruments, ship parts, gun shells, auto parts, medical parts, electrical accessories, various mechanical supporting materials, automotive synchronizer gear rings, etc.
2. Copper rods
Copper is a relatively pure type of copper, which can generally be considered as pure copper. It has good conductivity and plasticity, but poor strength and hardness. At present, my country's copper processing materials can be divided into four categories according to their composition: ordinary copper (T1, T2, T3, T4), oxygen-free copper (TU1, TU2 and high-purity, vacuum oxygen-free copper), deoxidized copper (TUP), and special copper with a small amount of alloy elements (arsenic copper, tellurium copper, silver copper). Since the electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity of copper are second only to silver, copper rods are mainly used to make conductive and thermal conductive equipment.
3. Bronze rod
Chromium bronze rod has high strength and hardness at room temperature and below 400℃, good electrical and thermal conductivity, good processing and forming performance, and is widely used in high-temperature conductive and wear-resistant parts of electrical equipment. The main uses are: motor commutators, collector rings, high-temperature switches, electrodes, rollers, clamps for electric welding machines, brake discs and discs used in bimetallic form, and other parts requiring high thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, and high thermal strength.
4. Cupronickel rod
Cupronickel rod is a copper alloy with nickel as the main alloying element, which is a continuous solid solution formed by Cu and Ni. Ordinary cupronickel rod has good corrosion resistance, medium strength, high plasticity, can be processed by cold and hot pressure, and has good electrical properties. In addition to being used as a structural material, it is also an important high resistance and thermocouple alloy.
