What is C28000 brass?
C2800 is a brass grade known for its favorable mechanical properties and workability. It exhibits excellent plasticity in both hot and cold states, along with outstanding machinability, weldability, and corrosion resistance, though it is susceptible to stress corrosion cracking. This alloy is widely used in industrial applications such as deep-drawing parts, radiator components, and various standard hardware like rivets, washers, nuts, conduits, and springs.

How to Choose Between C28000 and C26000
Choose C28000 (Muntz Metal) When:
The Environment is Aggressive (Marine/Brackish Water): This is the most critical factor. If the part will be in seawater or other environments prone to dezincification, C28000's 60/40 composition is specifically formulated to resist this type of corrosion much better than C26000.
High Strength is Required: For structural components, load-bearing fasteners, or parts subject to wear, C28000 provides superior strength.
The Part Will Be Hot-Formed: If the manufacturing process involves hot forging, hot stamping, or extrusion, C28000's alpha-beta structure is ideal.
You Need Good Properties in As-Supplied (Hot-Rolled) Form: C28000 is often used directly in its hot-finished state without needing cold work for strength.
Choose C26000 (Cartridge Brass) When:
Severe Cold Forming is Required: This is the primary reason. If the part requires deep drawing, spinning, severe bending, or stamping at room temperature, C26000 is the clear choice. Its single-phase alpha structure provides unmatched ductility.
The Application is Classic "Brass" Functions: For ammunition casings (where it gets its name), electrical components, and plumbing fixtures (where water is not highly aggressive), C26000 is the standard.
Aesthetics and Finish are Important: Its richer golden color is often preferred for decorative applications. It also takes plating and polishing very well.
You Need a Combination of Good Corrosion Resistance and Good Formability: For general atmospheric exposure and many indoor applications, C26000 offers an excellent balance.

Copper product packaging
We implement customized packaging solutions based on product characteristics: copper tubes and rods are wrapped with moisture-resistant kraft paper, reinforced with bundling, and secured on wooden pallets or iron frame boxes to prevent deformation and damage during transit. Copper plates and strips are covered with protective film, separated by foam padding between layers, and externally secured with steel strapping along with waterproof packaging. Wires are coiled on industrial reels or vacuum-packed with plastic film. All packaging includes clear labels indicating product specifications, batch numbers, and protective symbols, ensuring safe delivery during long-distance sea and land transportation.
