Introduction to copper busbar related knowledge - copper busbar surface treatment purpose:

1. Prevent external environment from corroding copper busbar, measures include: nickel plating, zinc plating, tin plating, silver plating, painting, protective sleeve, etc.

2. Increase insulation performance and prevent touching live parts, measures include: insulating sleeve (cold/heat shrink insulating sleeve), joint sleeve.

3. Increase conductivity, copper is used for conductivity, the conductivity strength is: gold, silver, copper, aluminum... Because of the alternating current, most of the current goes on the surface, if the copper body is not plated with gold or silver, it is best not to plate. Then why tin and nickel are plated, mainly for corrosion prevention. Therefore, if the environment is permanent, it is best not to plate anything, except gold and silver. The conductivity deteriorates after plating.

4. Increase heat dissipation performance, the main measure is to apply black paint.

Introduction to copper busbar related knowledge - copper busbar surface treatment method process:

1. Copper busbar painting
This process is an obsolete and backward process and is rarely used now. Process: The busbars of the three-phase AC circuit are all painted black, and color labels are pasted in conspicuous places. Phase A is yellow, phase B is green, and phase C is red. The zero line or neutral line is painted light blue, and the safety grounding line is painted with alternating yellow-green two-color paint. Those who cannot distinguish polarity and phase sequence are painted white.

2. Tinning of copper busbars

Advantages: Mature technology. Short operation cycle, widely used. Disadvantages: The surface becomes dark over time, which cannot be done by hand. Not environmentally friendly!

Process flow: Surface polishing and degreasing and other pre-treatment → pure water washing → plating high Pb-Sn alloy tap water washing → pure water washing → tinning → tap water spray washing → neutralization (Na2HPO4+Na3PO4) → tap water spray washing → soaking in stearic acid → tap water spray washing → hot pure water soaking → drying.

3. Copper busbar coating protective agent

Advantages: Maintain the original color of the copper busbar, slightly lower cost than tinning. Disadvantages: Long operation cycle.
Process flow: polishing pre-treatment → pure water washing → pickling and passivation of workpiece → drying of moisture → JLR-510 protection treatment → running water washing → hot water soaking (about 100℃, to heat the workpiece to allow the moisture to evaporate or dry on its own) → drying → packaging and sealing.
