Soft-drawn copper tubing, semi-hard-drawn copper tubing

Aug 19, 2025

Copper tubing, soft-drawn copper tubing, semi-hard-drawn copper tubing. Copper tubing is a seamless tube made of pure copper, featuring excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, and high-temperature resistance. Its applications include air conditioning and refrigeration (internal threaded tubing), building water supply, and electronic heat dissipation. It is lightweight yet high-strength, with a thinner wall thickness compared to other metal tubing materials under the same inner diameter. Excellent ductility allows for bending and deformation without additional joints, making them suitable for complex pipe layouts. Corrosion resistance: A dense oxide layer forms on the surface, resisting corrosion from water, oxygen, and chemicals, with a service life of up to several decades. High-temperature and high-pressure resistance: With a melting point of up to 1083°C, they perform stably in hot water systems and high-pressure fluid transportation applications. Antimicrobial properties: Release of copper ions inhibits the growth of bacteria such as Legionella and E. coli.

Production Process

Melting and Casting

1. Melting Process:

High-temperature melting (1100°C to 1200°C) removes oxides and impurities. Thick-walled pipes are cast using a hot-rolled piercing process to meet high wall thickness requirements. 2. Continuous casting: Molten copper is poured into molds for continuous casting, forming copper ingots or billets.
Forming Process

2. Extrusion Process:

Heated copper ingots are extruded through molds, suitable for small-batch, high-precision tubes (e.g., T2/TP2 copper tubes). The extrusion cylinder applies uniform pressure, ensuring smooth inner and outer walls and dimensional accuracy.

3. Drawing process:

The tube is drawn through multiple-stage dies to gradually reduce the diameter and improve surface quality; suitable for precision instrument tubes (e.g., medical equipment, electronic components).

4. Rolling process:

Hot-rolled or cold-rolled copper ingots, suitable for large-scale production of standard-spec tubes;

Annealing treatment is required after rolling to eliminate internal stress.

about Us

The company has a cluster of leading copper processing production lines in China, including:
German imported precision copper tube production line (annual output of 30,000 tons)
Japanese technology copper foil rolling line (thinnest up to 6μm)
Fully automatic copper bar continuous extrusion line
Intelligent copper sheet and strip finishing mill unit
Digitalized control and management of the whole production process is realized through MES system, and the dimensional accuracy of the products can reach ±0.01mm.
