TC25 titanium alloy, as a high-performance dual-phase high-temperature titanium alloy, has been successfully developed by Russia (then known as the USSR) since the 1970s, and has shown a wide range of applications in aerospace and high-temperature environmental applications due to its unique chemical composition and excellent thermal strength and heat resistance. Its chemical composition is roughly Ti-6.5Al-2Mo-1Zr-1Sn-1W-0.2Si, and this precise ratio gives TC25 titanium alloy (also known as BT25 titanium alloy) excellent comprehensive performance. In this paper, the microstructure, mechanical properties, hot working and welding properties, corrosion resistance and practical applications of TC25 titanium alloy will be discussed in depth.

I. Microstructure and phase composition
TC25 titanium alloy belongs to α+β type titanium alloy, its microstructure consists of α-phase (dense row hexagonal structure) and β-phase (body-centered cubic structure) together. This structure gives the material high strength, good plasticity and toughness. The phase composition and microstructure can be further optimized by adjusting the heat treatment process to meet the needs of different applications.
II. Mechanical Properties
TC25 titanium alloy exhibits excellent thermal strength and heat resistance due to its unique chemical composition and the addition of high melting point elements. It maintains good strength and hardness at higher temperatures. In addition, the alloy has high yield and tensile strengths, as well as good fracture toughness and fatigue life, making it an ideal material for high temperature environments in aerospace, energy and other fields.
III. Thermal Processing and Welding Properties
TC25 titanium alloy has good hot working performance and can be molded by forging, rolling, extrusion and other processes. In the hot working process, the heating temperature, deformation rate and cooling conditions need to be strictly controlled. Welding is one of the key technologies for connecting TC25 titanium alloy parts, selecting appropriate welding methods and parameters, as well as taking appropriate measures such as preheating and post-weld heat treatment can effectively improve the quality and performance of welded joints.
IV. Corrosion resistance
TC25 titanium alloy shows good corrosion resistance in a variety of corrosive environments, mainly due to its stable passivation film and low corrosion rate. In the marine environment, acidic media and high-temperature oxidizing environment, the alloy can maintain good corrosion resistance, thus extending the service life of components. In addition, titanium alloys have excellent biocompatibility and are therefore also widely used in areas such as medical implants.
In summary, TC25 titanium alloy has an important position in aerospace and high-temperature environment applications and other fields by virtue of its unique chemical composition, excellent comprehensive performance and wide application prospects.
