Description

Zirconium (Zr) alloys are composed of more than 95% zirconium and less than 2% tin, niobium, iron, chromium, nickel and other metals to improve mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. Salt, with oxygen, nitrogen and other gases have a strong affinity, has been used in water-cooled nuclear reactors and corrosion-resistant parts and pharmaceutical machinery parts. In addition, it is also used in pharmaceutical, heating, water supply systems, paper and pulp industries.

 This specification covers three grades of zirconium and zirconium alloy seamless and welded tubes. These tubes are categorized into three grades: Grade R60702 (unalloyed zirconium), Grade R60704 (zirconium-tin alloy) and Grade R60705 (zirconium-niobium alloy). Seamless pipes shall be manufactured by any seamless method. Welded tubes shall be made from plate or strip by the automatic arc welding process or other welding methods. Filler metals shall not be used. The material shall conform to the chemical composition requirements for zirconium, hafnium, iron, chromium, tin, hydrogen, nitrogen, carbon, niobium and oxygen. The material shall conform to the required tensile properties such as tensile strength, yield strength and elongation.
