Brief Introduction of Main Tin Bronze Castings of Japanese Standard

Bronze castings (bronze) are copper alloys that are widely used in various fields due to their good corrosion resistance, pressure resistance and mechanical properties.
It also has high toughness and was used to make gun barrels until the early 1900s, so it is also called gun copper.
Bronze castings include copper-tin-zinc alloy bronze castings type 2, copper-tin-zinc alloy bronze castings type 3, and lead-added copper-tin-zinc-lead alloy bronze castings type 1, type 6, type 7 and type 8. .
It is divided into 11 types of bronze castings made of Cu-Sn-Zn-Ni-S alloys dispersed with sulfides.
CAC402 and CAC403 have good pressure resistance, wear resistance and mechanical properties among bronze castings, and have the best seawater resistance among bronzes.
Therefore, they are widely used in bushings and sleeves for ships and general mechanical parts.
CAC401, CAC406, CAC407, CAC408 have good pressure resistance and wear resistance and are widely used in various fields from flushing accessories to mechanical parts.
CAC406 is one of the main materials with the highest production and sales volume among bronze-based copper alloys.
It has good machinability and is widely distributed, but its mechanical properties are worse than CAC403 and it contains a lot of lead, so its use in flush fittings is decreasing.
CAC411 is a lead-free copper alloy casting used for various parts of water supply equipment and water supply pipes.
Characteristics and use examples of bronze castings
CAC401 (old grade BC1) Bronze contains lead. Good fluidity and machinability. Mainly used in valves, water injection machines, bearings, nameplates, mechanical parts, etc.
CAC402 (old grade BC2) has the second highest corrosion resistance after CAC403, and has good pressure resistance, wear resistance, and mechanical properties. Mainly used in bushings, sleeves, bearings, pump bodies, impellers, valves, gears, ship portholes, mechanical parts, etc.
CAC403 (old brand BC3) is the most resistant to seawater among bronzes, and has slightly better pressure resistance, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance than CAC402, and has good mechanical properties. It is mainly used in bushings, sleeves, bearings, water supply equipment, impellers, pump bodies, valves, mechanical parts, etc.
CAC406 (old brand BC6) Leaded bronze has a large output and is relatively easy to obtain. Good pressure resistance, wear resistance, castability, and machinability. It is mainly used in water supply equipment, bearings, pump parts, valves, mechanical parts, etc.
CAC407 (old brand BC7) Bronze contains lead. The mechanical properties are slightly better than CAC406, with good pressure resistance, wear resistance, castability, and machinability. It is mainly used in water supply equipment, bearings, pump parts, valves, mechanical parts, etc.
CAC408 It is a bronze with low lead content, with a lower lead content than CAC406, but the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance are the same as CAC406, but the machinability is poor. Mainly used in water supply equipment, bearings, pump parts, valves, mechanical parts, etc.
CAC411 A new type of lead-free copper alloy casting that meets the revised lead dissolution standard in tap water. The elongation tensile strength is equivalent to CAC406, but the machinability is poor. Mainly used in water supply equipment, mechanical parts, etc.
