Dry stuff! Brass grade performance and uses
H62 ordinary brass: has good mechanical properties, good plasticity in hot state, good plasticity in cold state, good machinability, easy to braze and weld, corrosion-resistant, but prone to corrosion and cracking. In addition, it is cheap and is a common brass variety that is commonly used. Used for various deep drawing and bending manufactured parts, such as pins, rivets, washers, nuts, conduits, barometer springs, screens, radiator parts, etc.
H65 ordinary brass: The performance is between H68 and H62, the price is cheaper than H68, it also has higher strength and plasticity, can withstand cold and hot pressure processing well, and has a tendency of corrosion and cracking. Used for small hardware, daily necessities, small springs, screws, rivets and mechanical parts.
H68 ordinary brass: has extremely good plasticity (the best among brass) and high strength, good cutting performance, easy to weld, not resistant to general corrosion, but prone to cracking. It is the most widely used variety among ordinary brass. Used for complex cold-drawn parts and deep-drawn parts, such as radiator shells, conduits, bellows, cartridge cases, gaskets, detonators, etc.
H70 ordinary brass: has extremely good plasticity (the best among brass) and high strength, good cutting performance, easy to weld, not resistant to general corrosion, but prone to cracking. Used for complex cold-drawn parts and deep-drawn parts, such as radiator shells, conduits, bellows, cartridge cases, gaskets, detonators, etc.
H75 ordinary brass: has very good mechanical properties, process properties and corrosion resistance. Can be pressure processed well in both hot and cold conditions. It is between H80 and H70 in terms of performance and economy. For low load corrosion resistant springs.
H80 ordinary brass: similar in performance to H85, but with higher strength, better plasticity, and higher corrosion resistance in the atmosphere, fresh water and sea water. Used for papermaking mesh, thin-walled pipes, corrugated pipes and house construction supplies.
H85 ordinary brass: It has high strength, good plasticity, can withstand cold and hot pressure processing, and has good welding and corrosion resistance. Used for condensation and heat dissipation pipes, siphons, serpentine tubes, cooling equipment parts.
H90 ordinary brass: The performance is similar to H96, but the strength is slightly higher than H96. It can be plated with metal and coated with enamel. Used in water and drain pipes, medals, artwork, tank straps and bimetal strips.
H96 ordinary brass: higher in strength than copper (but the lowest among ordinary brass), good thermal and electrical conductivity, high corrosion resistance in the atmosphere and water, and good plasticity. Easy to cold and hot pressure processing, easy to weld, forge and tin plating, no tendency of stress corrosion cracking. In general machinery manufacturing, it is used as conduits, condenser tubes, radiator tubes, heat sinks, automobile water tank belts and conductive parts.
HA177-2 aluminum brass: It is a typical aluminum brass with high strength and hardness, good plasticity, can be pressure processed in hot and cold states, has good corrosion resistance to seawater and salt water, and is resistant to impact corrosion. , but has the tendency of dezincification and corrosion cracking. Used as condenser tubes and other corrosion-resistant parts in ships and coastal thermal power stations.
HA177-2A aluminum brass: The performance and composition are similar to HA177-2. The corrosion resistance to seawater is improved by adding a small amount of arsenic and antimony. The mechanical properties are also improved by adding a small amount of beryllium. The use is the same as HA177-2A. 2.
HMn58-2 manganese brass: has high corrosion resistance in seawater, superheated steam, and chloride, but has a tendency of corrosion and cracking; has good mechanical properties, low thermal and electrical conductivity, and is easy to perform pressure processing in hot conditions and cold conditions. The pressure workability is acceptable and it is a widely used brass variety. Used for important parts working under corrosive conditions and weak current industrial parts.
HPb59-1 lead brass: It is a widely used lead brass. It is characterized by good machinability, good mechanical properties, can withstand cold and hot pressure processing, easy brazing and welding, and has good resistance to general corrosion. Stable, but prone to corrosion and cracking, it is suitable for various structural parts made by hot stamping and cutting, such as screws, washers, gaskets, bushings, nuts, nozzles, etc.
HSn62-1 tin brass: has high corrosion resistance in sea water, good mechanical properties, cold brittleness during cold working, only suitable for hot pressing processing, good cutting performance, easy to weld and braze, but may suffer from corrosion cracking (Season split) tendency. For ship parts or other parts that come into contact with seawater or gasoline.
HSn70-1 tin brass: It is a typical tin brass. It has high corrosion resistance in the atmosphere, steam, oil and sea water, and has good mechanical properties, acceptable machinability, easy welding and brazing, and can be used in cold , It has good pressure processability under hot conditions and has a tendency of corrosion cracking (quaternary cracking). Used for corrosion-resistant parts on seagoing ships (such as condenser pipes), pipes in contact with seawater, steam, and oil, and thermal equipment parts.
